Marketing & Events Coordinator

This position is part funded by ERDF and Single Programme grants through the regional development agency One North East.
This is an exciting role, working in a small team within a larger parent organisation. Key responsibilities will focus on supporting the development of the marketing strategy and events calendar of NorthernNet, through the co-ordination of a marketing campaign and a series of events, seminars and conferences.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, focused and articulate. You must be a first class communicator with excellent writing skills, used to working to tight deadlines and have a proven track record in events and marketing, preferably within a public sector or creative industries arena.
Although based at Codeworks in Sunderland, this role will require you to travel across the North of England.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the marketing of NorthernNET and Northern Way products and services to the B2B market
- Assist in the management and delivery of events, from helping to generate initial concepts right through to delivery on the day.
- Planning room layouts and the entertainment programme, support the Regional Knowledge Manager in scheduling workshops and demonstrations; identifying sponsorship/stand/exhibition space to potential exhibitors/partners.
- Assist in the introduction of an efficient evaluation process to follow up events.
- Collate and record any related press activity relating to the project
- Demonstrate technical marketing skills
- Support the Regional Knowledge Manager in all aspects of print production, receipt and distribution.
- Liaise with regional teams and senior staff to ascertain their precise event requirements.
- Assist researching, proposing, agreeing and securing speakers or special guests
- Liaising with marketing and PR colleagues to promote the event;
- Ensuring that all event data is collated for post-event evaluation (including data entry and analysis)
- Carry out day to day administration necessary to support the department.
